Who Can Apply for DPIIT Recognition?

The entity must satisfy the applicable startup recognition conditions at the time of application.

TAX BENEFITS

DPIIT Recognition & Tax Exemption

DPIIT recognition and tax exemption are separate stages. Recognition does not automatically grant every tax benefit.

Section 80-IAC

  • Startup must first obtain DPIIT recognition.
  • Only eligible Private Limited Companies and LLPs can apply under the stated criteria.
  • Separate application and approval are required.
  • Tax exemption is governed by the applicable Income-tax provisions and conditions.
